1937年，抗日战争爆发。南京守城军官的石永凯在南京保卫战中结识了中国共产党地下党员袁玉婷、大学教授周永民、国军士兵许秀岚、帮派首领林万龙、民间手艺人陈熹年、爱国富商彭松祥等人，他们团结一致，成功保护大部分幸存的南京市民和朝天宫国宝。在撤离南京城时，袁玉婷不幸牺牲，她的共产主义精神鼓舞了石永凯。在新四军的安排下，石永凯组织“虎贲”特战队，先后在徐州大营救、武汉鱼雷战、火舞谍影、军火迷踪、赌场鏖战、皖南锄奸等斗争中，伏击日寇，威名震震。石永凯率“虎贲”小组围剿上海日军细菌战“血菊计划”总部时与永野秀一部激烈交火。搏斗中，石永凯刺穿永野秀一的咽喉，粉碎了日军在华东区的特工组织。在中国共产党的领导下，石永凯率“虎贲”特战队征战大江南北，谱写一曲可歌可泣的抗日英雄传奇。。A famous french actor is poisoned and dies right in the middle of a play.
