影片讲述的是蒙古族父子两代“歌王”的故事，父亲是将长调带出草原走向世界的“老歌王”，儿子则是将流行音乐带进草原的“小歌王”。父子两人因为不同的音乐理念，对蒙古族音乐的传承和发扬问题产生了一系列矛盾。。Victor, a rocker in his forties, is ready to do everything for his drug-addicted son: he'll help the boy and his rock band to prepare an upcoming live concert.
