弗莱迪（罗伯特·英格兰德 Robert Englund 饰）将榆树街孩子残杀殆尽，只留下约翰一人，约翰在梦中重返榆树街，历经梦中的混乱后被丢弃在陌生的城镇。在“青年之家康复中心”里，一群问题少年斯宾塞、翠西等人正接受教师玛姬（丽萨·赞恩 Lisa Zane 饰）的管理与矫正，失去记忆的约翰也被发现后送到了这里，玛姬发现约翰和自己的梦境相关联，他们有同样的关于榆树街的记忆。为调查真相，玛姬与约翰驾车来到没有一个孩子的春木镇，而翠西等三个少年也偷偷爬上车跟来了这里。翠西等人在榆树街的老宅中遭遇了弗莱迪的梦中追杀，另一边，玛姬与约翰却发现了弗莱迪的真实身份，更惊人的是，玛姬居然是弗莱迪的女儿……。天授元年，民间精怪作乱、怪事频发。狄仁杰奉命暗查奇案，近日听闻降魔邪咒召唤亡灵重回人间，为祸一方，便火速展开调查。当波谲云诡的案情逐渐显露端倪，却将狄仁杰引向了一个更加恐惧的真相，原来世间真有“亡灵”存在……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
